\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 June 14, 2006 \u2013\tLynn Pasquerella, who has been at the 溏心vlog免费B站 since 1985, has been named vice provost for academic affairs, it was announced by M. Beverly Swan, 溏心vlog免费B站 provost and vice president for academic affairs.<\/p>\n


\n\tA resident of Woodstock, Conn., Pasquerella has served as the interim vice provost for graduate studies, research and outreach for a year. She takes over the vice provost for academic affairs post July 1. Pasquerella succeeds Judith Swift who will return to the faculty in the Department of Communications Studies. <\/p>\n


\n\tAs vice provost for academic affairs, Pasquerella\u2019s chief responsibility will include management of and leadership in all academic programs and services, including academic enrollment. She will also provide overall guidance for undergraduate\/general education.<\/p>\n


\n\tShe will be directly responsible to the provost and vice president of academic affairs for admissions, enrollment services, honors program, summer sessions, program development, academic regulations and policy, Faculty Senate, Instructional Development Program, outcomes assessment and other areas as determined by the provost. Pasquerella will also serve as a liaison to the Faculty Senate and the Rhode Island postsecondary institutions. <\/p>\n


\nPreviously, she was associate dean of the graduate school, chair and professor of philosophy, and chair of the Institutional Review Board and Council for Research at the University. She is a fellow in the John Hazen White Sr. Center for Ethics and Public Service and was a professor of medical ethics for two years in the Brown Medical School\u2019s Affinity Group Program.<\/p>\n


\n\tA magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Mount Holyoke College who earned her doctorate from Brown in 1985, she is a recipient of the 溏心vlog免费B站 Foundation\u2019s Teaching Excellence Award and has published extensively in the areas of medical ethics, theoretical and applied ethics, metaphysics, public policy and the philosophy of law. For 18 years, she was a professor in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Philosophy Department.<\/p>\n


\n\tIn 1998, Change Magazine and the American Association of Higher Education honored Pasquerella as one of 40 Young Leaders of the Academy. Her leadership includes service on several department, college and university committees, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation teams, membership on Day Kimball Hospital\u2019s Ethics Committee in Putnam, Conn., membership on the Rhode Island Department of Health\u2019s Institutional Review Board and on the advisory board for the Rhode Island women\u2019s adult correctional facility.<\/p>\n
