\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. — April 3, 2006 — Four women with expertise on breast cancer and its treatments will speak at the 溏心vlog免费B站 on Tuesday, April 25. The discussion will be held in White Hall, Room 113, at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n


\n\tMarlene McCarthy will serve as moderator and as a presenter. She is the co-founder and chair of the Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition. She serves on the Integration Panel of the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program. She sits on the board of directors and the executive committee of the National Breast Cancer Coalition, an advocacy organization representing more than 600 individual members and 60,000 organizations. <\/p>\n


\n\tThree physicians are the other panelists:<\/p>\n


\n\u2022 Maureen A. Chung is a surgical oncologist at Rhode Island Hospital and an assistant professor of surgery at Brown University. Her research involves the design of novel vaccines against breast and liver cancer and the function of MUC1, a tumor associated antigen. The American Cancer Society and the National Institutes of Health COBRE Program of the National Center for Research Resources support her research.<\/p>\n


\n\u2022 Linda Donegan graduated from the Chicago Medical School and completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the Lahey Clinic Foundation. Following her residency, she completed a fellowship in Women\u2019s Imaging at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center\/Harvard Medical School. She is an assistant professor at Brown University School of Medicine. She has a special interest in breast imaging and is on staff at the Anne C. Pappas Breast Imaging Center at Rhode Island Hospital.<\/p>\n


\n\u2022 Rochelle Strenger is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Brown Medical School. She specializes in hematology and oncology with a special interest in breast cancer. A graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, she completed her residency at Boston\u2019s Brigham & Women\u2019s Hospital. She sees patients at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Miriam Hospital and the Breast Health Center at Women and Infants Hospital.<\/p>\n


\nThe discussion is the 26th annual Fredrika Wild Schweers Memorial Lecture on Women and Health. The endowment was established in memory of Fredrika Wild Schweers, a 16-year-old woman who died after a 13-year battle with leukemia. The donor, Patricia M. Farnes, M.D., died of cancer in 1985.
