Carlson Endowed Scholarships for Single Mothers for the 2006-2007 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nDue to the generosity of the late Eleanor M. Carlson, the scholarship provides full in-state tuition and a book allowance to women who are single parents with one or more dependent children. They must be heads of households.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nTo be eligible to receive the scholarship, applicants must be enrolled at or accepted by the 溏心vlog免费B站 for the 2006 fall semester. Students who are awarded scholarships may attend classes at 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Kingston and\/or Providence campuses. Students may register for either six to nine credits or be enrolled as full-time students. Previous recipients and applicants are eligible to reapply.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nPreference will be given to those who meet one or more of the following criteria: candidates who have followed a non-traditional educational track, candidates who demonstrate financial need, candidates in good academic standing, Rhode Island residents, or candidates pursuing a major or minor in Women\u2019s Studies.  In addition, preference is given to qualified undergraduates.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nApplications are available in the Women\u2019s Studies Office, 315 Roosevelt Hall, Kingston, RI 02881, or may be obtained calling 874-5150 and leaving a mailing address.  In addition, application forms can be downloaded from the following website: http:\/\/www.uri.edu\/artsci\/wms\/scholarships.php.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nApplications must be postmarked and mailed no later than April 21.  It is expected that three or four scholarships will be awarded.
