The auditions are open to the public. Call 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre at 874-5921 to sign up for an audition or sign up outside the theatre office on the second floor of the Fine Arts Center, 105 Upper College Road, Kingston.  <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nHere are the scenarios and requirements:<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nSmall Tragedy<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tSmall Tragedy, by Craig Lucas, captured the 2004 Obie Award (New York\u2019s best new off-Broadway play).  Extraordinarily probing and powerful, also witty and amusing, the play, set first in Cambridge, then Boston and finally New York City, follows six young people, three men and three women as they rehearse and finally perform an adaptation of Sophocles\u2019 Oedipus Rex discussing justice, denial and the acceptance of responsibility as well as sex, love and life.  From the mid to late 1990s they become friends and lovers as we witness how the themes of Greek tragedy merge with some truths about the catastrophe of the Bosnian War to impact irrevocably on their personal lives.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nDirector:  Bryna Wortman<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nPerformance Dates:\tOct. 9 through 12, 16 through 19<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Jewish High Holy days Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur occur during rehearsals.  Be sure to note conflicts on your audition sheet.  You will not be penalized.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nAudition Dates: Tuesday, Sept.  2, 6-10 p.m. in J Studio, Wednesday, Sept. 3, 6-10 p.m. in J Studio<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nCallback: Thursday, Sept. 4, 6-10 p.m.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nRehearsals Begin: Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nRehearsals are generally held weekdays Tuesday through Friday, 7-11 p.m. Saturday rehearsals are from 11 a.m. to no later than 6 p.m.  Sundays are from 1-6 p.m. or 6-11 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nAudition Requirement: A monologue of 1 to 2 minutes that reveals something about you as you tell a story, describe an event and\/or a feeling.  Please select a contemporary piece with good English and no obscenity.  You may be asked to read from the play at auditions. Reading from the play will be required at callback.  Try to read the play before auditioning (copies in 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre Office), or through Samuel French, publisher. Richard Rodgers\u2019 and Oscar Hammerstein\u2019s first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theater still being followed today.  Set in a Western-Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a spirited farm girl, play out their love story.  Musical highlights include \u201cOh, What a Beautiful Mornin\u201d, \u201cPeople Will Say We\u2019re in Love\u201d, \u201cThe Surrey with the Fringe on Top\u201d, \u201cI Cain\u2019t Say No\u201d, and the title hit \u201cOklahoma.\u201d The play won a Special Pulitzer Prize for Drama, two Academy Awards and a special Tony Award in 1993.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nDirector:\t\t\tPaula McGlasson<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nMusical direction:\t\tLila Kane<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nChoreography:\t\tAngelica Vassella<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nPerformance Dates:\t\tNov. 13 through 16 and Nov. 20 through 23<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nAudition Dates:\t\tTuesday, Sept, 2, 7-10 p.m. in G Studio<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tWednesday, September 3, 7-10 p.m. in G Studio<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nCallback Dates:\t\tCallbacks on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 6 to 10 p.m.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nRehearsals Begin:\t\tWeek of October 6<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nAudition Requirements:<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nPrepare and memorize a 1-to-2 minute contemporary monologue that emphasizes simple, plain speech lacking in artifice or embellishment or sophistication. Tell us a story with a sense of humor, reveal an earnest nature, and display a tendency towards youthful honesty and directness.  Prepare and memorize one song from the era of \u201cclassic\u201d musical theatre and bring the sheet music.  The music should be in the proper key&#8212;no transposing.  A pianist will be provided.  Favorite composers may include other Rodgers and Hammerstein pieces (preferably not from Oklahoma!), Rodgers and Hart, Lerner and Loewe, or Irving Berlin.  Following your private acting and vocal audition, you will be asked to perform a brief choreographed dance routine in a group of eight. Ballet, modern, or jazz training is a plus.  If you are going for the role of Will Parker, prepare a dance piece, which would be appropriate for the role.  Come dressed to dance.
