Some cases where there is little to no DNA evidence, trace evidence, such as glass and soil, are used to link the victim, suspect and crime scene.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tMaxwell earned a doctorate in physical chemistry from Oxford University and completed a fellowship at the Royal Military College of Canada.  She worked as a cancer researcher for the Yale University School of Medicine until 1991 but left and pursued her current career in the Trace Evidence Department of Connecticut laboratory.
