Elizabeth Roberts will discuss health care issues in Rhode Island as the first speaker in the 2007 Distinguished Lecture Series presented by the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Feinstein Providence Campus.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nRoberts\u2019 talk, \u201cLife, Liberty and the Pursuit of Health Care: Why You Should Care (If You Don\u2019t Already),\u201d will be presented Tuesday, Oct. 16 from noon to 1 p.m. at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Feinstein Providence Campus, 80 Washington St. The program is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nHer talk will detail the roles of business leaders, families and government officials in changing a health care system that has a profound impact on Rhode Island\u2019s economy and every Rhode Islander.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nRoberts is considered to be one of Rhode Island\u2019s most respected advocates for high quality, affordable health care for all citizens. She has been a tireless worker on health and medical issues in the Statehouse, and for the uninsured in the state.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nAs a health care professional, mother, small businesswoman, state senator and now as lieutenant governor, Roberts recognizes people\u2019s right to quality, affordable health care. In 1995, she was motivated to enter public life to strengthen the state\u2019s health care system.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nDuring her 10 years in the Rhode Island Senate, Roberts led the reform of Blue Cross Blue Shield, expanded prescription drug coverage for seniors and was a force in making insurance more affordable for small businesses.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nRoberts\u2019 lecture is one of three that will be offered this semester at the Feinstein Providence Campus.
