It will be held in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Fine Arts Center Concert Hall, 105 Upper College Road, Kingston. Admission for this concert is $15 general public, $5 students.  For this concert, tickets will be available for purchase in advance at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Music Department Office in the Fine Arts Center (874-5955) by cash or check only, and any remaining tickets will be available at the concert box office on a first-come basis starting two hours before the concert. This concert is expected to sell out, so concertgoers should plan to arrive early. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe program for this concert is:  Elgar\u2019s Empire March, Bruch\u2019s Violin Concerto #1 in g minor, and the last movement of Dvorak\u2019s Symphony #8 in G Major. Ann Danis will conduct.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nDavid Kim is well-known to Rhode Island audiences. From 1989 to 2008, he was founder and artistic director of the Kingston Chamber Music Festival at 溏心vlog免费B站, which awarded him the honorary degree of Doctor of Arts in 2001, and where he continues to hold the position of Special Guest Artist.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nIn conjunction with the Kingston Chamber Music Festival, Kim founded an annual outreach program that took him to elementary schools, performing and speaking about classical music in an effort to cultivate future audiences. He continues to devote a portion of his schedule each year to bringing classical music to children and visits numerous schools in the Philadelphia area each year. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nNamed Concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1999, Kim was born in Illinois in 1963, began playing the violin at the age of three, and began studies with the famed pedagogue Dorothy DeLay at the age of eight. He later received his Bachelor&#8217;s and Master&#8217;s degrees from The Juilliard School.  In 1986 he was the only American violinist to win a prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. He appears as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra each season as well as with numerous orchestras around the world. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nAs a highly sought after pedagogue, Mr. Kim presents masterclasses annually at schools and institutions such as Curtis, Juilliard, the New World Symphony in Miami, National Repertory Orchestra in Colorado, Yale, Shanghai Conservatory, the Korean National University of Arts, and universities and colleges across the United States.  He serves as Artist in Residence at Eastern University in suburban Philadelphia.
