Han Xu, a student at East Greenwich High School, won first place in individual competition for Division 1, thereby preventing a shut out.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe contest has continuously been offered to Rhode Island high school students since 1921. More than 470 students from 15 high schools competed in this year\u2019s program.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/wp-content\/uploads\/news\/sites\/16\/2021\/05\/Division1.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"112\" align=\"right\"\/><br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe competition consists of a 45-question, multiple-choice exam, which must be completed in an hour. Prizes are awarded to the top team and top three individuals in each of two divisions. Division 1 is made up of students with less than one full year of high school chemistry and Division 2 includes students with more than one year of high school chemistry.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe team competition was held in 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Edwards Auditorium. Students who wished to take the test as individual competitors did so in 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Chafee Social Science Center.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/wp-content\/uploads\/news\/sites\/16\/2021\/05\/Division2.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"121\" align=\"right\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tTeam members from Hendricken competing in Division 1 were Nick Chrones, Shreyyas Vanarese, Ben Caesar, Tom Whittaker, Ryan Meehan, Zach Padula, Mark Rotondo, and Cam Rinn. Hendricken team members competing in Division 2 were Philip Berard, Ryan Trottier, Michael Desmarais, Prasanth Somasundar, Brandon Maziuk, Conrad Kaczmarek, and Steven Morgan.
