Free parking for attendees is available at the Providence Convention Center.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tInitiated in 2003, the biotechnology manufacturing program features a rigorous curriculum that prepares students to work in the biotechnology industry and leads to a bachelor of science degree.  Classes are held in Providence and begin with two semesters of full-time study followed by a summer internship at a biotechnology company in the area.  Coursework includes biology, chemistry, biotechnology methods, microbiology and physiology.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nFollowing the internship, most students go to work full-time in the industry at starting salaries of $30,000-$40,000 and complete their education as part-time students.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\u201cThis degree program has attracted students over a wide range of age and educational backgrounds who are eager to train for a new career,\u201d said Ed Bozzi, coordinator of the program.  \u201cSome have been laid off from other positions or are working in jobs where there is little opportunity for advancement, while others are going back to college after raising children or leaving the military.
