\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 April 16, 2009 \u2013 \u201cBanking on the Future\u201d is the theme of a panel discussion sponsored by the 溏心vlog免费B站 College of Business Administration that will examine lessons from the economic crisis and its impact on investment management, banking and finance.<\/p>\n


\n\tThe program will be held on Thursday, April 23 at 4:30 p.m. in Lippitt Hall, room 402 on the 溏心vlog免费B站 Kingston campus. A reception will follow. Free and open to the public, the event is the University\u2019s second Vangermeersch Endowed Lecture.<\/p>\n


\n\tModerated by Mark Higgins, dean of the business college, the panelists will be Eric P. Andreozzi, managing director and co-founding partner of McColl Partners, LLC; Scott Carter, managing director and North American head of Global Prime Finance Sales and Hedge Fund Capital for Deutsche Bank Securities Inc.; and William Eigen III, managing director of Absolute Return and Opportunistic Fixed Income Strategies for J.P. Morgan Asset Management.<\/p>\n


\n\tThe panel will discuss some of the lessons of the economic depression, beginning with the collapse of Bear Stearns in March 2008. The speakers will then take a forward look at the impact on investment management, investment banking and finance. They will also provide insights on the career opportunities that may present themselves for the next few graduating classes.<\/p>\n


\n\tAndreozzi is head of the Business Services Group at Charlotte, N.C.-based McColl Partners. His experience includes buying and selling assignments within various sectors of the business services and information services industries, including database services, research organizations, commercial and industrial services, government contracting, printing and publishing, and technology companies. Previously, he was at Bowles Hollowell Conner\/First Union Securities and NationsBanc Montgomery Securities, where he served in its corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions groups. <\/p>\n


\n\tCarter joined Global Prime Finance Sales in 2001 and now heads the group responsible for distribution and client coverage of the firm’s global prime brokerage and financing business. He also heads the Capital Introduction team, which manages relationships with hedge fund investors, such as pensions, endowments, foundations, and family offices. The team leverages these relationships to help the bank\u2019s hedge fund clients identify new sources of capital.<\/p>\n


\n\tPrior to joining J.P. Morgan Asset Management in 2008, Eigen headed Highbridge Capital Management’s Fixed Income Group and spent 12 years at Fidelity Investments as an analyst and lead portfolio manager, where he managed approximately $10 billion across a number of multi-sector mutual funds and institutional products. He began his career as a group pension investment consultant in the Retirement and Investment Services Group at CIGNA, where he completed his tenure as a Stable Value Investment manager. <\/p>\n


\n\tAll three panelists are alumni of the 溏心vlog免费B站 College of Business Administration.<\/p>\n


\n\tThe Vangermeersch Endowed Lecture was established in 2008 with a $20,000 gift from Deborah Ciolfi in honor of her former accounting professor, Richard Vangermeersch, who retired in 2004 after 34 years of teaching at 溏心vlog免费B站. Ciolfi is the founder and CEO of Providence Investors LLC, a privately held business advisory and asset management firm with offices in Boston and Providence.<\/p>\n
