Free and open to the public, the talk is sponsored by the Women\u2019s Studies Department. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tHer presentation stems from a three-year study of adult women learners at one women\u2019s college. Some of her findings from this longitudinal study are forthcoming in the Adult Education Quarterly Journal and an edited volume entitled, Women in Higher Education and Student Affairs: Research and Practice from Feminist Perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tFor example, Vaccaro notes that critical race theory argues that &#8220;race matters.&#8221; Results from her study showed that differences in women&#8217;s educational motivation and supports did not vary simply by race. Instead, they varied by stage of racial identity.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tVaccaro earned her doctorate in higher education administration and her master\u2019s in sociology with a focus on gender from the University of Denver.
