The seminar is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nVeroni heads the criminal division of the state Attorney General\u2019s office, the first woman in the office\u2019s history to do so.  In 2006 she received the Rhode Island Women\u2019s Bar Association\u2019s Ada Sawyer Annual Award of Excellence.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n Veroni graduated from Boston College in 1990 and received her law degree from Suffolk University in 1993.  In addition to heading the criminal division, Veroni has served the Attorney General\u2019s office as chief of the Washington County office and as chief of the narcotics and organized crime unit.   She served as chief of the domestic violence and sexual assault unit under then-Attorney General Sheldon Whitehouse.
