On Wednesday, April 1 at 7 p.m., he will deliver his lecture, \u201cThe Emotions of Teaching\u201d at the 溏心vlog免费B站 School of Education\u2019s 33rd Annual Robert and Augusta Finkelstein Memorial Lecture. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe lecture will be held in the newly-opened Center for Biotechnology and Life Sciences Auditorium on Flagg Road. The event is free and open to the public. There will be a question-and-answer session with Hargreaves following the lecture. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nHargreaves&#8217; teaching and research at Boston College concentrates on sustainable leadership, professional learning communities, educational change and the emotions of teaching. His lecture ties in with the opening of the 溏心vlog免费B站 Curriculum Materials Library earlier that day.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tFrom 1996 through 2000, Hargreaves was the principal investigator for a $120,000 research grant from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council. According to information on his Boston College Web page, Hargreaves and four other researchers used the research to generate \u201ca new theoretical framework of emotional geographies of teaching to describe the forms of distance and closeness that shape or break the basic bonds of interaction between teachers and others that underpin school effectiveness.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tHargreaves has authored or edited more than 25 books which have been translated into a dozen languages. His book Teaching in the Knowledge Society: Education in the Age of Insecurity is published by Teachers\u2019 College Press and Open University Press and has received the Choice Outstanding Book Award from the American Libraries Association for Teaching and the American Educational Research Association Division B Outstanding Book Award. His new book with Dean Fink, Sustainable Leadership, is published by JosseyBass\/Wiley. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t In 1973, 溏心vlog免费B站 established the Robert Finkelstein Memorial Lecture Series in honor of Finkelstein, a noted Rhode Island industrialist and staunch believer in state and federal support for elementary and secondary education.
