Student-led fundraiser to benefit Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation <\/p>\n


\nKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 February 20, 2009 \u2013 Keaney Blue is generally the proper attire for a 溏心vlog免费B站 athletic event, but pink is in vogue Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Ryan Center.<\/p>\n


\nFans attending the 溏心vlog免费B站 men\u2019s basketball game against the University of Dayton are asked to wear pink in honor of the Athletic Department\u2019s third-annual Pink Out. The event will benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Research Foundation.<\/p>\n


\nThe event is being organized entirely by a committee of student interns headed by senior Jackie Chiodo, an intern in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Sports Marketing office. The students will be selling special pink T-shirts for $5 each at the game, with all of the proceeds going directly to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The shirts also can be purchased on campus in the Memorial Union and at Ballentine Hall in the days leading up to the game.<\/p>\n


\n\u201cOur goal is to raise $20,000 through the Pink Out,\u201d said junior Danielle Baker, the public relations chair of the committee. \u201cThis is an important cause that we have been working for. A lot of hard work has gone into this campaign, and everyone has worked well together to make this happen.\u201d<\/p>\n


\nThe Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Research Foundation, based in Lincoln, was started in 2004 by her family. Gloria Gemma was the mother of Larry, Leonard and Edward \u2013 all 溏心vlog免费B站 graduates \u2013 and Anthony Gemma. The mission of the foundation is to raise breast cancer awareness, increase breast health education and generate funding for breast health programs. <\/p>\n
