It is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tHenderson\u2019s talk will examine the emerging role of landscape architects in urban design and ecology in China, where the profession is often the primary design discipline for urban planning.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tSince 2005, Henderson has traveled frequently to China to exhibit his work and lecture on urban social space and landscape ecology in the urban environment.  He teaches at Beijing\u2019s Tsinghua University, where he also serves as deputy director of its International Master in Architecture degree program.  He has led and assisted on several major landscape design projects in China, including the recent creation of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Forest Park and the Fuzhou University landscape master plan.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tHenderson has been recognized with numerous awards for his work, including two awards for design ingenuity from the Providence Sustainable Housing Competition, the Premio Torsanlorenzo International Prize for the Beijing Olympic Forest Park, a planning award for an East Greenwich Commuter Rail Study, and a design award for the Xi Haizhi Model Ecological Park.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe next speaker in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Landscape Architecture Lecture Series will be Bill Taylor of Carol R. Johnson &amp; Associates, Boston, discussing \u201cLandscape on the Edge: Cooling and Greening the Desert Coast.\u201d  His presentation will take place on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe 溏心vlog免费B站 Landscape Architecture series is co-sponsored by the College of the Environment and Life Sciences, the Rhode Island chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Rhode Island Nursery and Landscape Association, and Gates Leighton &amp; Associates.
