\n\tKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 September 18, 2008 \u2013 \u201cEnergy Solutions of the Future\u201d is the theme of a poster contest for students in grades K-12 sponsored by the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Energy Center.<\/p>\n


\nWinners of the contest will be announced at the Rhode Island Energy Expo, which will be held Nov. 16 at the Ryan Center at 溏心vlog免费B站.<\/p>\n


\n\u201cOur contest encourages students to think about how we might power our homes, cars and businesses in the future, and to create a poster illustrating their ideas,\u201d explained Marion Gold, co-director of the 溏心vlog免费B站 Energy Center. \u201cIt\u2019s a fun way to get students to be imaginative and think creatively while also focusing their attention on a critical issue that is important to the health of the entire planet.\u201d

\nPosters can be made using any medium on paper as large as 24-by-36 inches, and they will be judged by an impartial panel on the basis of the poster\u2019s message, originality and overall design.<\/p>\n


\nFirst, second and third place prizes \u2013 including renewable energy toys and iPod Shuffles — will be awarded to winners in four age categories. All of the winning entries, including honorable mention winners, will be exhibited at the Rhode Island Energy Expo.<\/p>\n


\nAny Rhode Island student in grades K-12 is eligible to enter the contest. All entries must be delivered to the 溏心vlog免费B站 Outreach Center or postmarked by Oct. 23. For complete contest rules visit www.rienergyexpo.org, email rienergy@etal.uri.edu, or call 401-874-4453.<\/p>\n


\nThe Energy Expo will offer innovative and practical strategies to help Rhode Islanders deal with rising energy costs. The event will showcase dozens of local companies exhibiting products and services to help Rhode Islanders bring energy efficiency, renewable energy, and alternative fuels into their homes, businesses and communities. It will also feature high-profile speakers, educational workshops and demonstrations, educational activities for kids, music and food.<\/p>\n
