Matta will be graduating in December with a bachelor&#8217;s degree in music history and literature and a minor in women&#8217;s studies. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nShe is a singer with 溏心vlog免费B站&#8217;s Concert Choir and Lively Experiment, and takes voice lessons with Margaret Frazier.  She has completed six music history courses, including three at the upper-level in the Renaissance, the romantic era, and the symphony. After graduation she plans to begin working on a law degree.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMatta is also a member of Peer Advocates, a group that focuses on violence prevention and awareness on campus. She has been involved with the annual production of &#8220;Vagina Monologues&#8221; since her freshman year and last year served as director of the play, which is a fund-raiser for the university\u2019s Violence Prevention and Advocacy Services.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe James Ladewig Scholarship in Music History was created by students, colleagues, and friends in recognition and thanks for the superlative teaching and research work of James Ladewig, a 溏心vlog免费B站 professor of music history for more than 25 years. It is awarded annually to an undergraduate in recognition of academic excellence in and enthusiasm for the study of music history.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nLadewig is responsible for expanding the music history curriculum from the traditional classical repertory to include world music, jazz, and popular music.  A specialist in the Renaissance and Baroque eras, in particular the instrumental and keyboard music of Italy, Ladewig has published numerous scholarly articles.
