\n\tKINGSTON, R.I.–August 25, 2010–The 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre Department will hold auditions for two plays, Spinning Into Butter and The Rocky Horror Show, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7. The auditions are open to the public. To register call 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre at 401.874.5921 or visit the theatre office on the second floor of the Fine Arts Center, 105 Upper College Road, Kingston. Here are the scenarios and requirements:<\/p>\n


\nSpinning Into Butter

\nThis provocative prize-winning play by Rebecca Gilman takes place on a quiet college campus in Vermont. Racist letters found on the door of an African-American student precipitate a turbulent situation that Sarah Daniels, the liberal dean of students, must investigate. Gilman\u2019s play provides insights into contemporary issues of racism and political correctness in a challenging, sometimes comic, and often disturbing way. <\/p>\n


\nDirector: Bryna Wortman

\nRequirements: Actors should prepare a one to two-minute contemporary monologue expressing strong thoughts and\/or feelings or presenting a strong point of view. Please read the entire play prior to auditioning. Copies of the script are available in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre Office or from Dramatic Publishing at www.dramaticpulishing.com. Be prepared to read sides at the auditions and callbacks.<\/p>\n


\nAudition Dates: Tuesday, Sept. 7, 6 to 10 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 9, 7 to 11 p.m., Fine Arts Center. Callbacks: Friday, Sept. 10, 7 to l1 p.m.

\nRehearsals begin Sunday, Sept. 12.

\nPerformances: Thursdays through Saturdays, Oct. 14 through 16 and 21 through 23 at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays, Oct. 17 and 24 at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n


\nThe Rocky Horror Show

\nFasten your garter belts, come up to the lab and see what\u2019s on the slab! The phenomenon of Richard O\u2019Brien\u2019s The Rocky Horror Show is time-warping into Kingston for a two-week limited engagement. With O\u2019Brien\u2019s music and lyrics, this production promises to be a hilarious, sinfully twisted salute to sci-fi, gothic, gender-bending and glam rock all rolled into one madcap musical milestone. Leave your critical faculties at the door, come in costumes, bring your props and surrender to the foolish fun of a late-night double-feature picture show.<\/p>\n


\nDirector: Paula McGlasson

\nRequirements: Actors should prepare and memorize 32-measures of a song from a rock musical or rock opera and bring their own sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Do NOT prepare a selection from the show. Dance auditions will be held in small groups following vocal auditions. Prior to the audition, those auditioning should read the musical to familiarize themselves with the characters and the songs.
