{"id":63212,"date":"2010-06-03T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-06-03T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/uncategorized\/bishop-hendricken-east-greenwich-show-the-right-chemistry\/"},"modified":"2010-06-03T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2010-06-03T00:00:00","slug":"bishop-hendricken-east-greenwich-show-the-right-chemistry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/2010\/06\/bishop-hendricken-east-greenwich-show-the-right-chemistry\/","title":{"rendered":"Bishop Hendricken, East Greenwich show the right chemistry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"press-release-import\">\n\t\tTeams take first place at 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Chemistry Day<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tKINGSTON, R.I. &#8212; June 3, 2010 &#8212; Teams from Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick and East Greenwich High School each took home first-place trophies in separate divisions during Chemistry Day at the 溏心vlog免费B站 on May 18. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t溏心vlog免费B站 has offered the contest to Rhode Island high school students every year since 1924. 溏心vlog免费B站 400 students from 15 high schools competed in this year\u2019s competition.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe competition consists of a 45-question, multiple-choice exam, which must be completed in an hour. Prizes are awarded to the top team and top three individuals in each of two divisions. Students with less than one full year of high school chemistry compete in Division 1 while students with more than one year of high school chemistry compete in Division II.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe team competition was held in 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Edwards Auditorium. Students who wished to take the test as individual competitors did so in 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Chafee Social Science Center.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/wp-content\/uploads\/news\/sites\/16\/2021\/05\/BH-Group-009.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"166\" align=\"right\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nTeam members from Hendricken competing in Division 1 were (front row from left) Ryan Sutyla, Garabed Koosherian, G. Thomas Esmay, Ryan McNaughton and (back row from left) Anthony Abel, John Kane, Dan Moren, and Brent Parker.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tHendricken student Ryan Sutyla took the first-prize trophy in the division\u2019s individual competition. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/wp-content\/uploads\/news\/sites\/16\/2021\/05\/EG-Group-017.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"166\" align=\"left\"\/>The East Greenwich High School team took first place in the Division II competition.
