  {"id":62823,"date":"2012-03-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-03-26T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/uncategorized\/uri-lgbtiq2-group-to-discuss-life-after-college\/"},"modified":"2012-03-26T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-03-26T00:00:00","slug":"uri-lgbtiq2-group-to-discuss-life-after-college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/2012\/03\/uri-lgbtiq2-group-to-discuss-life-after-college\/","title":{"rendered":"溏心vlog免费B站 LGBTIQ2 group to discuss life after college"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"press-release-import\">\n\t\tPanel part of week-long symposium on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender topics<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013March 26, 2012 \u2013  The 溏心vlog免费B站 will present a panel discussion focusing on the unique workplace experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, intersex, queer or questioning individuals as they navigate life after graduation.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe discussion, titled LGBTIQ2 Life After College: A Focus on Careers, will feature a select group of 溏心vlog免费B站 alumni, including a mayor, lawyer, engineer and counselor, and is hosted by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer and Questioning Alumni and Friends Chapter. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe discussion will be held Thursday, April 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Alumni Center lounge at 73 Upper College Road in Kingston and is sponsored in part by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Student Affairs Diversity Programming fund.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe event is part of the 17th annual LGBTIQ2 Symposium: Connected Communities. The alumni chapter aims to foster and promote a positive campus and alumni community and to create an atmosphere of inclusiveness. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe symposium is a week-long series of events running from April 2 through 6. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe panel members for the discussion are: Daryl Finizio \u201999, the mayor of New London; Jim Moore \u201988, who now serves as a career development advisor at a law firm; Ernest Vetelino Jr. \u201973, an engineering specialist at Electric Boat; Holly Nichols \u201998, a counselor at 溏心vlog免费B站 and another panelist who has yet to be chosen.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nFinizio graduated from 溏心vlog免费B站 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science and received a master\u2019s degree in public administration from New York University. He served on the New York City Council as a criminal justice policy analyst during and after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 and the Westerly Town Council in 2006. He became Mayor of New London in 2011. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMoore graduated from 溏心vlog免费B站 with a degree in journalism and has since worked as a reporter, in advertising, the hospitality industry and college admissions. He received his law degree from George Washington University in 2001 and spent the last 10 years in law, including intellectual property litigation. He now guides lawyers in all aspects of career growth and development as part of the O\u2019Melveny &amp; Myers LLP Talent Development team.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nVetelino earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in biology at 溏心vlog免费B站 and worked at Electric Boat as a chemistry lab technician before transitioning to computer science with a degree from the University of New Haven. He is now an engineer in EB\u2019s Information Technology Services Group.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nNichols is a clinical counselor at the University and is co-advisor of the school\u2019s LBTQ Women\u2019s Group. She was recently involved in a campus screening of It Gets Better at 溏心vlog免费B站: Coming Out for Change.
