\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I.- November 29, 2011- The 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s annual fall Honors Colloquium concludes on Dec. 6 with a presentation by honors students enrolled in the colloquium course sharing their vision for the future, informed by the course and the previous 11 lectures. The colloquium examined the question \u201cAre you ready for the future?\u201d<\/p>\n


\n\tThe presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Edwards Auditorium on the 溏心vlog免费B站 Kingston Campus, and posters and exhibits of student projects will be on display in the lobby beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Free pizza, cookies and drinks will be available while viewing the exhibits in the lobby.<\/p>\n


\n\t\u201cThe students are going to present their view of how technology will impact their future,\u201d explained Peter Cornillon, 溏心vlog免费B站 oceanography professor and one of the coordinators of the colloquium. \u201cEach of eleven groups of students examined issues that they found important and interesting in the colloquium lectures.\u201d<\/p>\n


\n\tSome of the student groups will discuss their perspectives in the auditorium, while others will be exhibited in poster, video or exhibit format in the lobby.<\/p>\n


\n\tAmong the topics they will share are a vision for an environmentally sustainable New York City, the role technology will play in family dynamics, how robots and computers may replace doctors and nurses, and the use of 3-dimensional printing to manufacture almost any product on demand. One group will present a mock presidential debate from the year 2032. <\/p>\n


\n\t\u201cI think many of us resist change because we are afraid of the future,\u201d said student Mecca Smith. \u201cWe need to have confidence in the abilities of others, specifically our children and our children\u2019s children, to handle what is to come. There will always be change, but it will just be a matter of whether people are prepared for it or not.\u201d<\/p>\n
