The annual event will be held Thursday, Nov. 14<\/b>, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Ballroom at Memorial Union on the Kingston campus.<\/p>\n


\nA panel discussion \u201cStealing the News? The Ethics of Aggregation\u201d will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Panelists are Dan McGowan, digital reporter at WPRI-TV<\/a>; Sue Areson, deputy executive editor at The Providence Journal<\/a>; Joshua Fenton, founder of GoLocalProv.com<\/a>; and Michelle Smith, a reporter for the Associated Press. The moderator is 溏心vlog免费B站 Associate Journalism Professor Barbara Meagher.<\/p>\n

\u201cOoops: Why Online News Needs Editing\u2019”<\/b> is the topic for a talk from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Panelists are Sheila Mullowney, the editor of The Newport Daily News<\/a>; Maria Caporizzo, assistant managing editor, multiplatform, at The Providence Journal<\/a>; John Howell, editor and publisher of the Warwick Beacon<\/a>; and Galen Moore, web editor for the Boston Business Journal<\/a>. The moderator is John Pantalone, assistant professor and chair of 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Department of Journalism.<\/p>\n

The final discussion is \u201cCan\u2019t Find a Job? Create Your Own”<\/b> from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Speakers are Liz Boardman, managing editor of Independent Newspapers<\/a>; Jim Hummel, former television and newspaper reporter and founder of TheHummelReport.com<\/a>; and Mark Murphy, editor of the Providence Business News<\/a>.<\/p>\n
