\n\tKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 February 15, 2013 \u2013 The next speaker in the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Landscape Architecture Lecture Series, Stephen Stimson of Stimson Associates Landscape Architects in Cambridge and Princeton, Mass., will discuss \u201cYankee Ingenuity: Place-Making in the Regional Landscape.\u201d<\/p>\n


\n\tHis presentation takes place Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in Weaver Auditorium in the Coastal Institute building on 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Kingston campus. The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n


\n\tAn award-winning landscape architect with a national reputation for projects throughout the Northeast, Stimson and his firm have been recognized nationally and locally for their design work for at Harvard University, University of Massachusetts, Northeastern University and numerous other institutions and private gardens.<\/p>\n


\n\t\u201cGrowing up and working in New England has shaped the way I practice within the field of landscape architecture, and I have found that often the most interesting ideas and concepts come from the most ordinary places,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n


\n\tStimson\u2019s work was featured in the book series, Ten Landscapes, which presents 10 gardens by a single landscape designer. It describes his firm as one which is \u201crenowned for exceeding design goals with regard to space and use of materials\u2026Stimson’s work often challenges design assumptions by using common materials in uncommon ways.\u201d\t<\/p>\n


\n\tThe remaining speakers in the lecture series are: Karen Daubmann, director of exhibitions at the New York Botanical Garden and a 溏心vlog免费B站 alumna, on \u201cDesigning the Visitor\u2019s Experience at the New York Botanical Gardens\u201d on March 21; Barbara Wilks, principal of W Architecture & Landscape Architecture on \u201cShape of Time\u201d on April 4; and Elizabeth Mossop, professor of landscape architecture at Louisiana State University, on April 25. <\/p>\n


\nAll talks begin at 7 p.m. in Weaver Auditorium of the 溏心vlog免费B站 Coastal Institute in Kingston.<\/p>\n
