\n\t\tKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 Oct. 15, 2012 \u2013 Roberta Friedman, director of public policy at the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale University, is the next speaker in the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Honors Colloquium, which examines the politics and money influencing health care around the world.<\/p>\n


\nAll of the lectures in the semester-long series, called \u201cHealth Care Change? Health, Politics and Money,\u201d begin at 7:30 p.m. in Edwards Auditorium on the 溏心vlog免费B站 Kingston campus. They are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n


\nIn a presentation entitled \u201cCreating Optimal Defaults to Prevent Obesity,\u201d Friedman will discuss strategies for educating policy makers on the science supporting recommended food and nutrition policies and regulations.<\/p>\n


\nIn her role at Yale, Friedman distributes educational information on the science supporting food and nutrition policies to federal, state and local policy makers. Previously, she worked on improving school nutrition and obesity prevention programs at the Massachusetts Public Health Association, where she coordinated efforts to pass legislation to improve school nutrition. She holds a master of science degree in health and social behavior from the Harvard School of Public Health.<\/p>\n


\nThe remaining speakers in the colloquium series include Jonathan Gruber, director of the health care program at the National Bureau of Economic Research (Oct. 30); Stephanie Chafee, co-founder of the Rhode Island Free Clinic (Nov. 13); Michael Fine, director of the Rhode Island Department of Health (Nov. 27); and Unni Karanukara, international president of Doctors Without Borders (Dec. 10).<\/p>\n


\nOther colloquium events include the 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre presentation of the play Marvin\u2019s Room, a dark comedy that deals with family care and end of life issues, on Oct. 11-14 and 18-21, and the medical musical comedy, Damaged Care, on Dec. 4. <\/p>\n
