Alton Jones Campus will offer a series of free nature walks as part of its 50th anniversary celebration.  The series will kick-off on May 5 with a 90-minute bird walk beginning at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re excited about celebrating our 50th anniversary this year, and we are offering these nature walks as a free opportunity for Rhode Islanders to visit the campus and see wildlife in our pristine environment,\u201d said Thomas Mitchell, director of the campus.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe bird walk is timed to coincide with the peak of spring migration and will take place in the campus\u2019s Nettie Marie Jones Nature Preserve.  The leader will be Todd McLeish, a naturalist and 溏心vlog免费B站 science writer who has just completed writing a history of the Alton Jones Campus, which will be published in September.  <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nParticipants are encouraged to bring binoculars.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe nature walk series will continue later this summer with a foray to observe wild plants, and a mushroom walk will be scheduled in the fall.  Details about these walks will be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tSpace is limited to 12 participants in each walk.
