\n\tKINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 December 3, 2014 \u2013 The annual gardening symposium sponsored by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Master Gardeners will feature keynote speakers, a panel discussion, an open marketplace and great food, all focused on the theme of \u201cCritters, Containers and Native Plants: Gardening in Harmony with Nature.\u201d The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 7 at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Center for Biotechnology and Life Sciences.<\/p>\n


\n\tEarly bird tickets cost $65 through Jan. 1, making them a great gift for the gardener in the family. Prices then rise to $75 for the all-day event.<\/p>\n


\n\tFeatured speakers at the symposium are:<\/p>\n


\n\t\u2022 Doug Tallamy, professor of entomology and wildlife ecology at the University of Delaware, whose presentation, \u201cA Case for Native Plants,\u201d will focus on the importance of including sustainable plants in our gardens. He is the author of The Living Landscape and recipient of the Garden Club of America\u2019s Medal for Conservation.<\/p>\n


\n\t\u2022 Colleen Plimpton, a \u201cprofessional garden communicator\u201d who has appeared on numerous television and radio programs, penned a prize-winning newspaper column, and authored the book Mentors in the Garden of Life. She will entertain participants with her presentation, \u201cNot Tonight, Deer,\u201d about the challenges of gardening in deer country. She will also share her recipe for a never-fail deer repellent.<\/p>\n


\n\t\u2022 Louis Raymond, who will combine his talents as a former opera and concert singer with his years as a landscape designer, will educate and entertain about how to plant, grow and nourish all things green. His presentation, about his six decades of expanding the limits of gardening in pots, pools, pans, tubs, troughs, and garbage cans, is called \u201cPotted! Gardening on the Edge.\u201d<\/p>\n
