  {"id":57952,"date":"2016-01-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-01-26T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/uncategorized\/uri-offers-tours-of-inner-space-center\/"},"modified":"2016-01-26T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-01-26T00:00:00","slug":"uri-offers-tours-of-inner-space-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/2016\/01\/uri-offers-tours-of-inner-space-center\/","title":{"rendered":"溏心vlog免费B站 offers tours of Inner Space Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"press-release-import\">\n\t\t<b>Three public tours in February<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tNARRAGANSETT, R.I.  \u2013 Jan. 26, 2016 \u2013 Seafaring enthusiasts and students looking for ways to keep busy during the February break can check out tours offered by the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s world-famous Inner Space Center.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/wp-content\/uploads\/news\/sites\/16\/2021\/05\/spacenter30.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" align=\"right\"\/>Tours will be offered Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m., and Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. Space is limited, so registration is required by visiting the center\u2019s website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.innerspacecenter.org\/explore\/booking\">Inner Space Center<\/a> or contacting Romy Pizziconi at <a href=\"mailto: romy@uri.edu\">romy@uri.edu<\/a> or 401-874-6119.  Each tour is limited to the first 20 registrants, and the cost is $5 for each person.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe center on 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Narragansett Bay Campus brings ocean science research and exploration through telepresence technologies to the world in real time. The centerpiece of the Ocean Science and Exploration Center, the Inner Space Center uses a satellite system and Internet2 to allow scientists and students to participate in ocean-going research expeditions without leaving campus. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nAround-the-clock live video of research expeditions aboard ships in the U.S. research fleet and other ships such as the Ocean Exploration Trust\u2019s E\/V Nautilus and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration\u2019s Okeanos Explorer is transmitted to the center from sea. Scientists, teachers, students and the public can observe and listen as scientific discoveries are made in real time.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nTours of the center\u2019s facilities include the opportunity to view expedition footage (both live and archived), a display of artifacts recovered from ancient shipwrecks and the video production studio where live television and Internet programming is produced.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe center offers tours to school, youth and adult groups, as well as educational programs on a variety of topics.
