Family, friends and fellow alumni gathered at the Memorial Union in remembrance of the recipients. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe ROTC Chapter also honored the sacrifice of the following men who were killed while serving on active duty during the Vietnam War:<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nMaj. Walter J. Decota &#8217;54, U.S. Marine Corps<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nCapt. Edward A. LaPierre &#8217;55, U.S. Air Force<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nCapt. Robert L. Mosher &#8217;59, U.S. Army <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nFirst Lt. Carl W. Myllymaki &#8217;65, U.S. Marine Corps<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nSecond Lt. William G. Schanck Jr. w\/&#8217;70, U.S. Marine Corps<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news-draft\/wp-content\/uploads\/news\/sites\/16\/2021\/05\/CasinelliROTC0.jpg\" width=\"288\" height=\"192\" align=\"right\"\/>Sgt. Danny V. Scurfield w\/&#8217;67, U.S. Army<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nSpecialist Paul F.
