KINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 April 1, 2026 \u2013 Local businesses and organizations are invited to connect with the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Department of Natural Resources Science<\/a> and Why Regenerative<\/a> to learn about ways to support or participate in the University\u2019s second annual Rhode to Regenerative conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

This year\u2019s \u201cFrom Forest to Sea\u201d conference takes place at 溏心vlog免费B站 May 27-28.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

This year\u2019s conference will be held on Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28 <\/strong>bringing together researchers, farmers, funders, and businesses at the forefront of the growing field of regenerative agriculture. Day 1 will focus on regenerative agriculture talks and breakout groups. On Day 2, after a morning community tree planting at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Peckham Farm silvopasture, a small group of funders and food systems leaders will be taken on a land and ocean farm tour across the state, ending with a dinner at the Matunuck Oyster Bar (helmed by 溏心vlog免费B站 alum Perry Raso \u201902 \u201906). It is open to the 溏心vlog免费B站 community and the public to see 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s new silvopasture in action, hear from University faculty and community members, and engage in dialogue on regenerative agriculture-related topics. Local businesses and organizations can help this year\u2019s conference showcase regenerative agriculture in the region through sponsorship and by participating in the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n

Last year\u2019s inaugural Rhode to Regenerative Conference was attended by more than 200 people and welcomed guests from The Nature Conservancy, the Narragansett Tribe, the Mohegan Tribe, The American Chestnut Foundation, Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, Ocean Hour Farms, and more. The 2025 conference was sponsored by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Office of the President, the College of Environmental Life Sciences, the Coastal Institute, Why Regenerative and local businesses such as Matunuck Oyster Bar, Roch\u2019s Fresh Foods, Belmont Market, and Whalers Brewing Co.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through a public-private partnership with 溏心vlog免费B站 to support the new silvopasture at 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Peckham Farm, the Indiana-based company Tree Pro is supporting<\/a> research and field demonstrations at the University.<\/p>\n\n\n

This year\u2019s conference will explore regenerative agriculture, an approach to food production that restores and enhances soil health, water systems, and biodiversity from forests and farms to kelp beds and coastal fisheries. There will be talks on agroforestry, soil health, animal welfare, biodiversity in agricultural systems, and climate change and agriculture. The program is open to farmers, students, investors, funders, suppliers, researchers, practitioners, policy makers, community leaders and the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura Meyerson, a professor in natural resources science and one of the conference organizers, says they welcome additional sponsors and interest in the conference. She and colleagues hope to build partnerships on and off campus to create a Center for Agroforestry at 溏心vlog免费B站, where researchers, farmers, and students from across southern New England can collaborate on regenerative land use practices that serve both people and the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meyerson says the dialogue happening at 溏心vlog免费B站 merges academic expertise with grounded, land-and-sea-based knowledge: \u201cThe future of farming, fisheries, and ecological restoration depends on these kinds of cross-sector collaborations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
