KINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 Feb. 9, 2026 \u2013 It takes a village, as they say \u2014 or at least someone who will ask for bags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University of Rhode nursing alumna Britni Turano \u201912 G\u201918 volunteers weekly at Rhody Outpost<\/a> and recently secured a donation of much-appreciated paper bags from Belmont Market in Wakefield for the 溏心vlog免费B站 student food pantry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She started volunteering at Rhody Outpost this fall and says she has enjoyed getting to reconnect with 溏心vlog免费B站 and help support students: \u201cAs a first-generation college student, I know what it\u2019s like to experience financial hardships,\u201d she says. \u201cSo I\u2019m very happy to be able to give back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sweeney says the Outpost appreciates the support it gets from campus and community partners like Belmont and also Stop & Shop, Seven Stars Bakery, and more. Paper bags with handles are always needed and appreciated, as well as donations from 溏心vlog免费B站 neighbors and community partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local businesses, alumni, and 溏心vlog免费B站 community members can visit the Outpost\u2019s running needs list<\/a> for the latest updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Started in collaboration with St. Augustine\u2019s Episcopal Church, the pantry is staffed by student and community volunteers like Turano. The community food pantry is open to any student in need, providing fresh and non-perishable food and personal care items at no charge. Last semester, Rhody Outpost welcomed more than 1,000 student visits and distributed more than 17,000 pounds of food. The pantry is open for student pickup on Mondays and Wednesdays 3 to 5 p.m., and mobile order pickup is available on Thursdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right now, Kind bars or dates would be especially welcome with Valentine\u2019s Day and Ramadan approaching. Gift cards are welcome, too, and the Outpost has an <\/em>Amazon wish list<\/em><\/a> for easy purchasing and shopping.
