{"id":105978,"date":"2025-12-18T14:10:38","date_gmt":"2025-12-18T14:10:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/?p=105978"},"modified":"2025-12-18T21:26:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T21:26:09","slug":"innovation-and-entrepreneurship-showcased-at-uris-rise-up-ideation-studio-pitch-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/2025\/12\/innovation-and-entrepreneurship-showcased-at-uris-rise-up-ideation-studio-pitch-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovation and entrepreneurship showcased at 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s RISE-UP Ideation Studio pitch night"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 Dec. 18, 2025 \u2013 The 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/rise-upinnovation.org\/ideation-studio\/\">Ideation Studio<\/a> recently held its Pitch Night competition at which 溏心vlog免费B站 students and alumni had an opportunity to pitch a product, service, or new business they developed over the course of the semester to a panel of judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judges were Erynn Peterson, chief executive officer of Emme, a healthcare technology startup; Patrick Walsh, entrepreneur and former founder of Classy (acquired by GoFundMe); and Kirtley Fisher, an assistant teaching professor in 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s College of Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The top three winners were presented award implementation grants, which they could use to further develop their startup ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1st\u00a0place: Finsight Intelligence, an AI-powered fintech financial analysis platform that reduces the amount of time to do large dataset analysis, created by Chelsie Santos, a senior finance major from New London, Connecticut; and Emma Choukroun, a senior dual majoring in computer science and computer engineering, from Paris, France<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2nd&nbsp;place: Warmline, a peer-led mental health platform, created by Hagar Yosfan, a senior majoring in marketing from Newton, Massachusetts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3rd place: Smart ProBono, legal tech for the underserved, created by Baheem Ferrell of Providence, who earned a bachelor\u2019s degree from 溏心vlog免费B站 in computer science in 2021<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The other contestants included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MyRep, an AI-powered political social hub and voting platform for young adults, created by Britney LeClaire, sophomore biomedical engineering major and Logan Cote, sophomore dual majoring in physics and mathematics, both from Amherst, New Hampshire<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PathPal, a sidewalk mobile app that helps seniors optimize their walking routes for safety, created by Gyanko Yussif, computer science Ph.D. student from Ghana who now lives in Kingston<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EchoFlow, an events-driven marketing platform using AI and crowdsourcing to determine the vibe in clubs and bars, created by Kishan Patel, senior computer science major from New Bedford, Massachusetts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ProFlow, a more seamless manufacturing automation workflow platform for the manufacturing industry, created by Herik Munoz and Akram Abdelrehem, both sophomore computer science majors from Providence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis cohort embraced the concepts and put in the work to get their projects to the next level,\u201d said Joe Loberti, Ideation Studio co-lead and consultant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cross-disciplinary Ideation Studio is a program offered through the Regional Innovation by Scaling Entrepreneurship via University Partnerships (<a href=\"https:\/\/rise-upinnovation.org\/\">RISE-UP<\/a>), which is a tri-state initiative led by 溏心vlog免费B站, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the University of Hawai\u2019i.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/survey.alchemer.com\/s3\/7411848\/RISE-UP-Ideation-Studio-Application\">Enrollment is open<\/a> for the spring semester of the Ideation Studio.
