KINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 Dec. 11, 2025 \u2013 Adam Moore<\/a>, associate professor in the 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Feinstein College of Education<\/a>, has been recognized for his global special education work, receiving the Teacher Education Division of the Council for Exceptional Children\u2019s (CEC) 2025 Nasim Dil Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moore received the Dil Award for Outstanding Service to Teacher Education, the highest honor for service to the CEC\u2019s Teacher Education Division Small Special Education Program Caucus (SSEPC). It is presented annually to a member who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the development and advancement of quality teacher education in special education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moore is a principal investigator for 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s Project SUSTAIN <\/a>award<\/a> from the U.S. Department of Education, which aims to address the national special education teacher shortage through a $1.1 million educator grant. He has been recognized with several awards for his research, service, and teaching. Prior to joining the 溏心vlog免费B站, Moore was a special education teacher in Massachusetts.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cIt was very humbling to receive this recognition,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moore is also program director of 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s special education graduate program<\/a> and the recently launched Special Education 4+1 Advanced Bachelor\u2019s to Master\u2019s Program<\/a>. He is known for building and leading graduate programs within Rhode Island to create pathways for aspiring special educators. Spanning more than 20 years in the field, Moore\u2019s expertise includes special education teacher preparation program design, accreditation, and program improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his work at 溏心vlog免费B站, Moore focuses on advancing high-quality teacher preparation through scholarship that bridges research and practice, and also helps equip educators to meet the needs of diverse learners globally. Moore currently serves on the CEC Executive Board of Directors and is one of seven national experts on the CEC Accreditation Commission. He also is a member of the CEC Student Teacher Support Network working group and the Rhode Island CEEDAR Center Collaborative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colleagues from across the country nominated Moore for the award, including Shantel Farnan at Northwest Missouri State University, who describes Moore as a champion in national conversations around special education. Moore has been a leader for faculty in special education programs at colleges across the country, helping them maintain funding and support to grow a new generation of special education teachers nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His peers also highlight his cooperative approach. \u201cCollaboration is a hallmark of Adam\u2019s work,\u201d says Jessica Rueter from the University of Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moore was honored to receive the award and says the recognition also reflects on work being done at 溏心vlog免费B站, in 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s College of Education, and the University\u2019s special education master’s degree program.
