KINGSTON, R.I. \u2013 Nov. 21, 2025 \u2013 The 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre Department is holding auditions for its two spring semester productions, Shakespeare\u2019s \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream\u201d and the comedic musical \u201cRide the Cyclone.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Auditions for each production are open to the public. They will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, from 2-6 p.m.<\/strong>, and Sunday, Dec. 7, from 5-9 p.m.<\/strong> at the Robert E. Will Theatre in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Fine Arts Center, 105 Upper College Road, on the Kingston Campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Callbacks for \u201cRide the Cyclone\u201d will take place Monday, Dec. 8, from 6:30-10 p.m., and callbacks for \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream\u201d will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10, from noon-4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cRide the Cyclone\u201d tells the outlandish story of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir whose lives are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When the teens awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win the ultimate prize: The chance to return to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 溏心vlog免费B站\u2019s production of the Shakespearian comedy \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream\u201d will be set in the 1930s jazz age with heavy influences from Busby Berkeley films\u2014where the jazz era meets a magical fairy land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Actors auditioning for \u201cRide the Cyclone\u201d must prepare a 32-bar musical theatre song corresponding to the character range and genre they\u2019re auditioning for. Seven actors will be cast to play roles in the production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Those auditioning for \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream\u201d must prepare a 75- to 90-second Shakespeare monologue or sonnet. The cast will comprise 13 actors working in an environment that is highly physical and utilizes creative movement, including hand-to-hand combat and jazz dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first read-through for \u201cA Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream\u201d is set for Saturday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. Directed by associate theatre teaching professor Tracy Miller, it will run Feb. 27-28, March 1, and March 4-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first read-through for \u201cRide the Cyclone\u201d will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. Directed by assistant professor of acting and directing Rachel Walshe, the play runs April 17-19 and April 22-26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rehearsals for both productions will take place on weekday evenings between 6-11 p.m., and on weekend days from noon to 5 p.m. Those interested in auditioning or have any questions, please contact the 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre Department at (401) 874-5921 or (401) 874-5922 to sign up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sign-up sheets are located outside of the theatre office on the Fine Arts Center\u2019s second floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre is committed to equal opportunity and non-traditional casting.
