But before the plates can hit the streets, there\u2019s one important step: interest. State regulations require a minimum number of pre-commitments. To that end, the University has launched an interest form<\/a>, inviting people to show their support and share their ideas about the license plate design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The plate design is being led by the University’s communications and marketing division, with student and faculty collaboration. Designers are working together to ensure the final plate is instantly recognizable, appeals to fans and supporters, and conforms to DMV regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Rhode Island DMV\u2019s charity plate program has supported a wide range of organizations and causes in recent years, from shark research and lighthouse preservation to uniquely Rhode Island events like Gaspee Days.
