KINGSTON, R.I. 鈥� May 19, 2026 鈥� More students from the 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 will receive valuable hands-on learning experiences thanks to funds raised for .
The College of Health Sciences, with support from the 溏心vlog免费B站 Foundation, secured $350,000 from generous donors to fund internships over the next five summers.
The program will make summer internships possible for about two dozen students per year, with each student receiving a $5,000 stipend.
Students had the option of applying for internships related to multiple disciplines. An academic transcript, resum茅, and short statement of interest were required.
The internship categories and sources of funding include:
- The Gallogly-Burt Student Internship Fund: internship in the fields of mental health or social services, including but not limited to counseling, psychology, or community-based support
- Dr. Mark P. Babich Memorial Student Internship Fund: internship in the Psychology Department
- Dr. Jeffrey Ross and Jennifer Ross Internship Fund: advanced training in the healthcare field
- The Martin Henry Fund: internship in child health or health system improvement
- (OLLI) Internship Fund: internship with 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
- Nancie Herbold Nutrition Department Fund: for undergraduate nutrition majors seeking a dietetic internship and master鈥檚 students in nutrition programs
鈥淎 summer internship is a wonderful way to bridge academic learning with experiential learning,鈥� said donor Elizabeth Gallogly Burt 鈥�79. 鈥淭he real-world application of classroom knowledge can solidify career goals, broaden understanding of population needs within a career track, and offer opportunities for building university and community relationships. It鈥檚 about putting education into action.鈥�
Except for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, which supports interns year-round, the rest of the internships are new.
Dr. Jeffrey Ross 鈥�75, who received the Dean鈥檚 Award for the College of Health Sciences at 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 Distinguished Achievement Awards in 2022, was pleased to support his alma mater.
鈥淪upporting this internship is a natural continuation of my pre鈥憁ed days at 溏心vlog免费B站,鈥� said Ross. 鈥淭he program will foster relationships between students and physicians across a wide range of healthcare specialties and industries. This is a way for me to give back to 溏心vlog免费B站, provide aspiring doctors with opportunities that I didn鈥檛 have, and encourage them to give back in the future.鈥�
