Educators to ‘flourish together’ at vlogBվ’s Innovative Education Conference

Free virtual conference to feature five learning tracks, presentations, panel discussions

KINGSTON, R.I. – March 27, 2026 – The vlogBվ’s third annual will be held on Wednesday, April 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The theme of the free, virtual event, hosted by vlogBվ’s , is “Flourishing Together: Teaching & Learning in Higher Education Today.”

More than 200 members of the higher education community from 116 universities are expected to attend the conference to discuss best practices for teaching, learning, faculty development, and support in a higher education context.

“The conference is our opportunity to lean into vlogBվ’s flagship mission by bringing together colleagues with wide-ranging expertise to gather around key topics that impact higher education,” said Christopher Lavan, associate vice provost in vlogBվ’s Office for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning.

Keynote speaker Kevin McClure, professor of higher education and chair of the Department of Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, will discuss reimagining the higher education workplace. McClure had a best-selling book published on the subject in 2025. His presentation is titled, “The Caring University: A Roadmap to Reimagining the Higher Education Workplace.” 

“We are excited to have Dr. Kevin McClure as this year’s keynote speaker,” said Lavan. “He’s a nationally recognized expert in higher education. His talk and his best-selling book, “,” will be an exciting learning opportunity for anyone seeking fresh ideas, perspective, hope, and community in the higher education workplace.”

Attendees will represent such institutions as Purdue University, Boise State University, North Carolina State University, University of Tennessee, and the University of New South Wales (Australia), to name just a few.

The conference will offer participants five learning tracks:

  • Academic Leadership Practices that Foster a Flourishing Environment for Faculty
  • Lessons Learned Using AI and Other Technologies to Enhance Teaching & Learning
  • Supporting Inclusive & Accessible Teaching and Learning
  • Amplifying Evidence-based Teaching Through Assessment and/or the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Course or Program
  • Supporting Faculty Vitality and Well-being

Organizers say the theme is intended to convey the objective of the event—bringing educators together to form strong bonds and partnerships.

“We want to provide a valuable experience that will help educators thrive based on what they learn at the conference, and because of new relationships that are established and existing relationships that are strengthened,” said Lavan.
