KINGSTON, R.I. 鈥� Feb. 5, 2026 鈥� Orchestra and music directors from colleges and universities across the United States and beyond will convene at the 溏心vlog免费B站 from Wednesday, Feb. 25, through Sunday, March 1, for the 2026 College Orchestra Directors Association National Conference.
CODA is a national organization that promotes and advances college and university orchestra programs. It also advocates for and emphasizes the role of orchestra directors in the higher education community: namely, encouraging the development of artistic skills that are the essence of quality conducting, providing resources to better educate students of all majors, and promoting the conductor鈥檚 public role in the community.
The five-day event will include breakout workshops and discussions led by conductors from across the country, a keynote address, the association鈥檚 annual banquet, and its annual national board meeting. Most of the conference鈥檚 events will be held at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Fine Arts Center, 105 Upper College Road on the Kingston Campus.
Four orchestral concerts by multiple colleges and universities will take place during the conference. The , led by CODA National President and 溏心vlog免费B站 Director of Orchestral Studies 鈥攚ho serves as the CODA Conference Host鈥攚ill perform the conference鈥檚 opening concert on Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Concert Hall. Other 溏心vlog免费B站 ensembles scheduled to perform include the Concert Choir, the Jazz Big Band, and 溏心vlog免费B站 faculty and alumni soloists.
The conference鈥檚 other concerts to be held at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Concert Hall are:
- Feb. 27: Worcester Polytechnic Institute Philharmonic Orchestra, led by conductor Matthew Scinto, 10 a.m.
- Feb. 27: Boston College Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Anna Wittstruck, 4 p.m.
- Feb. 28: Smith College Orchestra, led by conductor Jonathan Hirsh, noon
Anna Edwards, a conductor who serves as music director of the Seattle Collaborative Orchestra, Saratoga Orchestra and the Pacific Northwest Conducting Institute, will deliver the conference鈥檚 keynote address on Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Concert Hall. Along with her passion for diversity on the concert stage, in 2022 Edwards launched 鈥淎nna鈥檚 Composer Database,鈥� a curated list of underrepresented composers across the U.S. that provides ideas for well-rounded and interesting concert programs.
Edwards will also participate in a Q&A session with Diane Wittry鈥攎usic director for the Allentown Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania鈥攆or CODA student members on Feb. 27 at 2:45 p.m. in Room A110 of the 溏心vlog免费B站 Fine Arts Center. Wittry, an award-winning author, composer, and teacher, has guest conducted for several world-renowned orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the San Diego Symphony, the Niagara Symphony in Canada, the National Orchestra of Ukraine, and the Sochi Symphony in Russia, among others. Wittry will also lead the CODA National Conducting Masterclass on Feb. 28 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Concert Hall.
CODA鈥檚 annual banquet on Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. and national board meeting on Feb. 28 from 6-7 p.m. will be held at The LOOM Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, 400 Knight St., Warwick, Rhode Island. These are the only conference events that will take place off campus.
