Media Advisory: äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ joins Major League Hacking, hosts large-scale, multi-track hackathon

More than 60 universities expected to attend hackathon on Feb. 21-22

KINGSTON, R.I. – Feb. 17, 2026 – The äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ will host , a two-day hackathon on Feb. 21-22 in the Fascitelli Center for Advanced Engineering. Teams of students from more than 60 universities will be challenged to develop innovative solutions to social problems.

Students from different majors will work together using technology and creativity to solve a theme-based challenge. This will be the first hackathon äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ will host as a member of , an organization that supports 500,000 developers and more than 300 hackathon events a year in over 90 countries.

Students may choose from six different tracks.

  • Hack to Health: Technology for better care and well-being
  • Neural Tide: AI-powered startups, technical projects, and compute-intensive experiments
  • Ocean’s Edge Ventures: Build tools to help ideas and businesses set sail
  • Creative Currents: Shining light on creative, expressive, interactive tech
  • Safe Harbor: Explore, test, and secure—within trusted waters          
  • SplashZone: Make your first splash into hacking and exploration

WHO: Besides äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾, some of the 60 colleges and universities expected to participate include Brown University, Rhode Island College, Salve Regina University, Community College of Rhode Island, University of Connecticut, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston University, Northeastern University, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Massachusetts Amherst, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Maryland, and Caldwell University.

Judges, workshop speakers, and mentors include professionals from äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾, RISE-UP, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, Mastercard, Accenture, MEDITEC, Fidelity, Citizens, HCLTech, Atlassion, Slalom, and more.

WHEN: From Feb. 21, 8 a.m. to Feb. 22, 5 p.m.

  • After check-in and opening ceremony, competition starts at 10 a.m. on Feb. 21
  • Projects are submitted by 11 a.m. on Feb. 22
  • Projects are judged from 1 – 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 22
  • Closing ceremony and awards at 4 p.m. on Feb. 22
