KINGSTON, R.I., Jan. 29, 2026鈥擳he 溏心vlog免费B站 has announced two important leadership appointments within the Division of Academic Affairs. Beth Meyerand has been named vice provost and dean of the Graduate School, and Steven Mello has been appointed vice provost for academic resource management.

Meyerand currently serves as associate dean of the Graduate School and Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor in the Departments of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin鈥揗adison. Over nearly three decades at Wisconsin, she has held numerous senior leadership roles, including department chair and vice provost for faculty and staff affairs, with responsibilities encompassing academic planning, workforce and resource management, policy development, and faculty and staff advancement across a multi-college academic enterprise.

In her current position, she provides institution-wide leadership for graduate education, with a focus on admissions, academic planning, and strengthening faculty and graduate student mentoring.
As vice provost and dean of the Graduate School at 溏心vlog免费B站, Meyerand will oversee graduate education, including program development, operations, and student excellence. She will begin her appointment in Kingston on March 1.

Meyerand holds a Ph.D. in biophysics from the Medical College of Wisconsin, a master鈥檚 degree in biomedical engineering from the University of North Carolina, and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University.
Mello joins 溏心vlog免费B站 from Tufts University, where he served as executive administrative director of the Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging. In that role, he acted as chief operating and financial officer for a $22 million biomedical research institute, overseeing budget and finance, research administration and compliance, human resources, organizational effectiveness, and facilities operations. His prior experience includes leadership roles at Yale University and Columbia University, as well as serving as managing principal of Wooster Square Consulting, LLC.
As vice provost for academic resource management, Mello will lead strategic resource planning across Academic Affairs, including budget management, labor relations, academic space allocation, and implementation of the University鈥檚 activity-based budget model, working closely with the provost, academic deans, and administrative leaders. He joined 溏心vlog免费B站 on Jan. 26.

Mello holds an MBA in leadership and finance from Columbia Business School, a master鈥檚 degree in vocal performance and opera from the Manhattan School of Music, and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in music from Yale University.
