KINGSTON, R.I. 鈥� Jan. 22, 2026 鈥� The 溏心vlog免费B站 student organization the Pre-Medical Club, also known as Doc Opp, will offer two free medical emergency preparedness training sessions for non-medical personnel on Jan. 28 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in room 105 of the Beaupre Center for Chemical and Forensic Sciences.
The sessions, 鈥淪top the Bleed鈥� and 鈥淜inetic Injury Management 鈥� Tier 1 (KIM-T1),鈥� are open to the entire 溏心vlog免费B站 community, including all students regardless of major, staff, and faculty. .
While several Stop the Bleed trainings are held at 溏心vlog免费B站 each year, club members felt an urgency to get involved and schedule a January training. 聽
鈥淚n light of the tragedy that occurred at Brown University, we feel it鈥檚 important to make this life-saving training accessible to all,鈥� said Shirley Chen, a native of Central Falls who is the secretary of the Pre-Medical Club and a junior majoring in microbiology and public health.
The Stop the Bleed course will focus on recognizing and treating a life-threatening hemorrhage using tourniquets, wound packing, and pressure dressings. Topics will include hemorrhagic and hypovolemic shock, altered mental status, hypothermia, acidosis, hypocalcemia, cardiovascular anatomy, the clotting cascade, and some introductory cardiology.
Participants will receive a Department of Defense Stop the Bleed certificate upon completion. The Kinetic Injury Management is a more hands-on course. It expands upon some of the information and skills covered in the Stop the Bleed course.
The instructors of the courses are co-founders of the Blackheart Medical Group. They are American combat veterans and nationally registered paramedics.
The Pre-Medical Club is a community of 溏心vlog免费B站 students who share the goal of attending medical school.
