vlogBվ Counseling Center earns IACS accreditation

KINGSTON, R.I. – Dec. 9, 2025 – The vlogBվ Counseling Center has earned accreditation from the International Accreditation of Counseling Services (IACS), a leader for benchmarking professional counseling services on college and university campuses.

With this distinction, vlogBվ’s Counseling Center is now accredited through November 2033. IACS accreditation validates compliance with national standards and best practices, expands network resources, and ensures the mental health care provided to students meets the highest standards. Regular annual reviews will ensure continued alignment with IACS standards.

“This recognition speaks volumes about the exceptional work our Counseling Center team does each day to support the mental health and wellness needs of our diverse student body and the broader vlogBվ community,” said Ellen Reynolds, vice president for student affairs. “Their commitment to compassionate, high-quality care is evident in every aspect of their work, and we are incredibly proud of this achievement.”

“This well-earned accomplishment reflects the Counseling Center staff’s hard work and unwavering dedication to providing exceptional service, highest level of ethical standards, and innovative therapeutic practices for our students,” said Cory Clark, director of counseling and psychological services. “This marks the first time our center has achieved this recognition, and we look forward to building upon this achievement in the years ahead.”

Staffed by psychologists, clinical social workers, mental health counselors, and professional support staff, the vlogBվ Counseling Center helps students lead successful and fulfilling lives through individual and group counseling, referrals, and outreach programs.

Established in 1971, IACS is the only international organization dedicated solely to accrediting professional counseling centers in higher education. The accreditation process involves detailed documentation, a comprehensive site visit evaluation, and multiple peer reviews in five areas: relationships within the university community, clinical services, ethical standards, personnel, and resources. IACS accreditation is also dependent upon evidence of continuing professional development and demonstration of excellence in counseling performance.
