KINGSTON, R.I. 鈥� Nov. 21, 2025 鈥� The 溏心vlog免费B站 Theatre Department is holding auditions for its two spring semester productions, Shakespeare鈥檚 鈥淎 Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream鈥� and the comedic musical 鈥淩ide the Cyclone.鈥�
Auditions for each production are open to the public. They will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, from 2-6 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 7, from 5-9 p.m. at the Robert E. Will Theatre in the 溏心vlog免费B站 Fine Arts Center, 105 Upper College Road, on the Kingston Campus.
Callbacks for 鈥淩ide the Cyclone鈥� will take place Monday, Dec. 8, from 6:30-10 p.m., and callbacks for 鈥淎 Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream鈥� will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10, from noon-4 p.m.
鈥淩ide the Cyclone鈥� tells the outlandish story of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir whose lives are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When the teens awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win the ultimate prize: The chance to return to life.
溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 production of the Shakespearian comedy 鈥淎 Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream鈥� will be set in the 1930s jazz age with heavy influences from Busby Berkeley films鈥攚here the jazz era meets a magical fairy land.
Actors auditioning for 鈥淩ide the Cyclone鈥� must prepare a 32-bar musical theatre song corresponding to the character range and genre they鈥檙e auditioning for. Seven actors will be cast to play roles in the production.
Those auditioning for 鈥淎 Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream鈥� must prepare a 75- to 90-second Shakespeare monologue or sonnet. The cast will comprise 13 actors working in an environment that is highly physical and utilizes creative movement, including hand-to-hand combat and jazz dance.
The first read-through for 鈥淎 Midsummer Night鈥檚 Dream鈥� is set for Saturday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. Directed by associate theatre teaching professor Tracy Miller, it will run Feb. 27-28, March 1, and March 4-8.
The first read-through for 鈥淩ide the Cyclone鈥� will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. Directed by assistant professor of acting and directing Rachel Walshe, the play runs April 17-19 and April 22-26.
