KINGSTON, R.I. – March 19, 2025 – vlogBվ student volunteers have spent much of the year raising funds to support Children’s Miracle Network and Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence. They will continue those efforts this weekend with a day-long, dance marathon in Mackal Field House on Sunday, March 23.
This year’s “RhodyTHON Rhodeo” will begin at 10 a.m., with a fundraising reveal at 8 p.m. Open to the public and aimed at supporting the Miracle Kids of Hasbro Children’s Hospital, for RhodyTHON is $5.
Since 2017, more than $600,000 has been raised through RhodyTHON —including more than $52,000 raised through last year’s event. The enthusiastic and moving day will culminate in the unveiling of a check showing the amount raised this year.
Throughout the day students will enjoy pulsating music and food provided by local vendors, as well as visits from pediatric patients at Hasbro. At the top of each hour, there will be choreographed, morale-boosting dance performances. And, in keeping with this year’s rodeo theme, a line dancing instructor from Coventry’s Mishnock Barn will make a special guest appearance.
RhodyTHON is one of the major philanthropic events within the vlogBվ student community. Its executive board and committee get the entire vlogBվ campus involved by inviting Greek Life, clubs and organizations, and more to further the student population’s involvement with RhodyTHON.
Student organizers on the RhodyTHON Executive Board have been preparing for this week’s RhodyTHON events since last April. The board consists of about 30 participants, including Executive Director Isabella Leggett, Director of Internal Relations Sophia Agbay, Director of External Relations Jenna Bryant, Communications Director Olivia Pappas, Membership Director Nicole Perrone, and Finance Director Tricia Richardson, as well as about 25 chair people.
Donations and registrations for the main event can be made or by paying the entry fee at the main event this Sunday, which goes towards fundraising. Giddy Up for Change!
