KINGSTON, R.I. 鈥� Feb. 26, 2025 鈥� With a nationwide shortage of primary care providers, the tangled web of insurance regulations and referrals, the often-exorbitant cost of prescription medications, and long wait times to see specialists, among other obstacles, the U.S. health care system is overly complicated, often confusing, and sometimes prohibitively expensive.
This spring, 溏心vlog免费B站 Magazine is examining our often-complicated health care system with perspectives and advice from alumni working in the field. As a complement to this, the 溏心vlog免费B站 Foundation & Alumni Engagement is offering a series of webinars featuring 溏心vlog免费B站 faculty members whose work focuses on supporting patients with complex health care needs. The Faculty Office Hour webinars, free and open to the public, will offer the expertise and perspectives of those who have first-hand knowledge of the challenges patients face.
The series begins Wednesday, March 5, from noon to 1 p.m., with a look at children鈥檚 health care, hosted by 溏心vlog免费B站 College of Nursing assistant professors and . 鈥溾�� will focus on the challenges of caring for children with complex medical conditions at home, noting that patients do better when they and their families receive the care and services they need.
Moraitis is a nurse scientist and clinical exercise physiologist whose research focuses on digital support for health promotion and symptom mitigation in underserved communities. Co-chair of the Oncology Nursing Scientist Research Collaborative, and committee member of the International Late Effects of Childhood Cancer Guideline Harmonization Group, Moraitis promotes physical activity across various acute care and rehabilitative settings.
Geyer is a pediatric home care nurse, primary care nurse practitioner and nurse scientist. His research focuses on identifying, examining, and addressing challenges of caring for children with medical complexity at home. He is chair of the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Special Interest Group for the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
