溏心vlog免费B站 Spring Splash fashion show to showcase student designs April 29

KINGSTON, R.I. — April 19, 2018 — Come see what鈥檚 new in the world of fashion through the creativity of 溏心vlog免费B站 students when they present their work April 29 at 5 p.m.

Students in 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 Department of Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design will present their creations at the 15th Annual Spring Splash Fashion Show at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick. Students have been working with faculty, alumni of the department and their fellow students to create clothes that range from elegant to fun.

The event is being coordinated by Killian Maloney of Colchester, Conn., a junior in the department who is focusing on design and product development. For the first time the event is being held off campus.

鈥淭he Crowne Plaza has a large ballroom that is able to seat more people and we can create an atmosphere more suited to this kind of a show. We will create a runway that will showcase our students鈥 clothing lines and our student models in a more glamorous way,鈥 said Maloney.

The event is more than a fashion show. It鈥檚 a fundraising and networking event to celebrate the Department of Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design as well as 溏心vlog免费B站 alumni who have found success in the industry. Scholarships funded by the TJX Corporation will also be awarded.

Design awards will be presented to students who have demonstrated excellence in the following categories: Most Marketable, Most Creative, Best Sewn Construction, and Judges鈥 Choice.

The members of the judging panel are all graduates of the program: 聽Bryce McGillivray, 鈥14, Hannah Stamp, 鈥16, and Kayla Demeulenaere, 鈥11. Audience members will also be able to vote for their favorite designs.

鈥淲e use the evening to recognize students who have earned scholarships, industry partners such as companies or organizations that have helped the department, and alumni who have had successful careers in the industry鈥 said Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design Chairperson Susan Hannel, who also serves as the event supervisor.

It鈥檚 also a big night for students like Maloney.

鈥淭his event is important to me because it has given me an outlet to use my creativity to put an event like this together. The Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design program has done a lot for me, and it is my pleasure to do something to showcase the inspiring talent that is within this program鈥 said Maloney.

to the show are $25 and $10 for students, and includes access to a cash bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Guests are encouraged to wear cocktail attire.
