KINGSTON, R.I. — October 25, 2017 — To prepare students today for their next move — whether for another internship, their next job or their next learning opportunity, 溏心vlog免费B站’s Center for Career and Experiential Education will hold their 2nd Annual Professional Development Week, Nov. 6-10, 2017.
Aimed at preparing students for success after graduation, the week is packed with a series of workshops, including personal branding and resume-building, the job and internship search, LinkedIn 101, and financing their future. They can also gain some basic etiquette tips for dining and interviews. All of the programs are free for students and alumni.
This year ‘s program is more personalized and targeted to clusters of careers. It鈥檚 designed to help develop skills students may need to apply for jobs or internships in specific areas including: health and health administration; arts and humanities; communications and media; environment and sustainability; business, economics and data analysis; education, government and human services; and STEM fields.
A variety of workshops will be offered in the Memorial Union and Roosevelt Hall throughout the week. In addition, drop-in resume reviews and mock interviews will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Memorial Union.
Workshops include everything from career-based 鈥淩ock that Interview,鈥 鈥淧rofessional Branding,鈥 and 鈥淛ob & Internship Search,鈥 to 鈥淪peed Networking with Alumni,鈥 鈥淟inkedIn 101,鈥 and 鈥淪alary Negotiation.鈥
A few highlights include: Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 4-5 p.m., the 鈥30-Second Elevator Pitch鈥 workshop, will be followed at 5:30 p.m. by 溏心vlog免费B站 Vice Provost for Enrollment Management Dean Libutti鈥檚 鈥淣etwork & Dine: Etiquette Dinner Event.鈥 Libutti will help students learn how to network during formal receptions, cocktail hours, dinners and interviews-over-meals. Students will come dressed for success, with a copy of their resume in hand.
On Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., everyone will have a chance to put their fresh skills to the test at the Fall Career and Internship Fair.
