äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ Providence Campus to host Juanita Sanchez High School students for Amgen Biotechnology Experience workshop, May 8

WHO: Students from Juanita Sanchez High School in Providence, along with äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ biotechnology professors and representatives of biotech company Amgen.


WHAT: The students will participate in hands-on biotechnology activities through the Amgen Biotechnology Experience, an educational program funded by Amgen. Four students have been trained to lead the program for their fellow students, which will include a laboratory exercise with E. coli. The Amgen Foundation recently renewed funding for äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ to offer the program through 2017. Since the program was launched in 2007, äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ has presented the program to more than 4,000 students from 40 schools in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.


WHERE: Room 302 of the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ Providence Campus, 80 Washington St., Providence.
