WHO: 溏心vlog免费B站 Chemistry Professor Mindy Levine, 溏心vlog免费B站 chemistry students, and middle school girls from throughout Rhode Island.
WHAT: A weeklong chemistry camp for girls designed to spark their interest in science. Levine seeks to reverse the trend of girls losing interest in science during their middle school years. The camp features hands-on experiments, motivational guest speakers and field trips. For instance, on Monday afternoon, students will conduct a forensic investigation using lipstick and then make lava in a cup. On Wednesday, they will conduct an experiment using cornstarch to enable them to walk on water, conduct the famous Diet Coke and Mentos experiment, and study non-Newtonian fluids by making 鈥済ak鈥� and slime from household products.
WHEN: The camp runs all week April 20 through 24, but media are encouraged to visit the camp on Monday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. or Wednesday from 10:15 a.m. to 3 p.m.
