WHAT: A weeklong chemistry camp for girls designed to ignite a passion for science. Levine seeks to reverse the trend of girls losing interest in science during their middle school years. The camp features hands-on experiments, motivational guest speakers, and field trips. On Friday morning, the students will make their own pH indicator using red cabbage and test the acidity of a wide variety of household fluids like ammonia, soda and Tums. They will also study 鈥渘on-Newtonian fluids鈥� by making gak and slime from common products.
WHEN: The camp runs all week April 21-25, but media are encouraged to visit the camp on Friday, April 25, between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.
