Bishop Hendricken student Christopher Bianco took the top prize in the Division I individual competition, while East Greenwich High School student Benjamin Pallant took first place in the Division II competition.
äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ has offered the chemistry contest to Rhode Island high school students since 1921. äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ 450 students from 14 high schools in Rhode Island competed this year.
The competition consists of a 45-question, multiple-choice exam, which must be completed in an hour. Prizes are awarded to the top team and top three individuals in each of two divisions. Students with less than one full year of high school chemistry compete in Division I while students with more than one year of high school chemistry compete in Division II. High school students in advanced placement classes compete in Division II.
